AdmissionsRequirments
1. High School Diploma or GED on file, Lafayette Beauty Academy does not accept
ATB students
2. Age minimum of 17 years old unless a vocational student.
Procedures
1. Personal interview required for each student
2. Complete all admission forms
3. Down payment of $400.00.
5 If receiving federal funds all paper work must be on file.
6 Enrollment form completed
7 Students receive hours for when they clocked in (no hours will be taken away for
any reason, also no hours will be awarded if they are not in attendance or clocked
in). Hours are rounded to the nearest quarter.
8 Students not attending for 14 days will be dropped from the program on the 14th
day of the last physical day of attendance and the refund will be sent within 30
days.
9 Lafayette Beauty Academy does not discriminate because of sex, age, race, color,
religion, or ethnic origin.
10 There is no age ceiling and no sex barriers, men and women find satisfying
careers working for and with others.
11 Lafayette Beauty Academy does not recruit students already attending or admitted
to another school offering a similar program.
Physical Demands
1. Long hours and not at 9:00 – 5:00 position in most shops
2. You will have to work evenings and weekends.
3. You are on your feet most of the time.
4. Towel and appointment desks duties may also be required.
5. Lunch hours may be very short or not at all.
Graduation
Graduation Requirments
The requirements to graduate from Lafayette Beauty Academy are to take both a written
theory test and practical test on a live model with a score of 80% or above on each test.
The required hours must be completed and all tuition must be paid in full before taking
final test. Also your State Progress Book must be completed. A money order is needed
to send to the State Board for the exam. A picture ID for the state of IN is needed. When
all this has been completed a diploma is awarded.
Placement
Lafayette Beauty Academy will help the student in looking for employment by including
in our course a class in writing an employment resume’, applying for a job, and job
interviewing. We do not guarantee placement or employment for any of our courses, but
we have resources and staff available to ensure you are assisted in your search. We do
provide our students with information about job availability through job postings and
salon visits.
